The August 2026 edition barely moves the world balance. For wheat, ending stocks gain 0.41 Mt to 273.25 Mt, despite production cut by 0.67 Mt and use raised by 0.56 Mt.
Corn production is raised by 1.79 Mt. The drop in the European Union (-3.58 Mt) is more than offset by Ukraine (+1.80 Mt), Russia (+1.40 Mt) and the rest of the world (+2.17 Mt). Stocks nonetheless fall 0.60 Mt to 274.66 Mt.
The largest stock revision is in barley: +1.23 Mt to 22.13 Mt. Production gains 1.45 Mt thanks to Russia (+1.00 Mt), Canada (+0.70 Mt) and the rest of the world (+0.65 Mt), despite a decline in the European Union (-0.90 Mt).
Rapeseed loses 0.18 Mt of stocks to 12.00 Mt, and soybeans are almost unchanged at 124.21 Mt. Stocks-to-use ratios move little: 33.2% for wheat, 20.9% for corn, 14.3% for barley and 12.4% for rapeseed.
