The Euronext COT report (Commitment of Traders) is published every Wednesday evening by Euronext. It details the net positioning of speculative funds and commercials on three contracts: soft wheat EBM, corn EMA and rapeseed ECO. Two indicators summarise this positioning. The Z-score measures the gap between the current position and the 3-year historical average. The NPI (Net Position Index) places the position within its 0-100% historical range. An NPI above 70% with negative momentum signals reversal risk: funds are over-bought. An NPI below 30% indicates historically low positioning, often a precursor to a price recovery. The Euronext COT complements the CFTC COT published every Friday on Chicago wheat ZW, corn ZC and soybean ZS contracts.
